Red paint and the fuss about the Gate

(Berlin, Germany - 2.15 a.m. local time)
I have just received my media creds from the Chicago office and have to decide where I want to be to film this.
Option 1: among the crowds and trampling and shaking with all them Berlin folks.
Option 2: cached in front of the stage with all the media from around the world - competing for a bit of the action. But what action? Its a speech, damn it. I have been filming Obama speeches since December now. If I can not diversify my footage with some new shots, it will be boring...
I had a wonderful moment with the Berliners on the Brandenburg Gate on Saturday last week. The light was perfect, the people relaxed and the mood calm and serene. All we talked about was the pettiness of the German government to refuse Obama an invitation to speak at the column. I think most people kept it real and gave some insightful and relevant answers. You will find out more about the event in the follow up over the next couple of days. So stay tuned and make do with some shots from the built up over the weekend.

There were two huge trucks and three workers cleaning the street after some freak spilled red paint all over the place as he crashed through the barriers with his car. Well, red paint. Communist propaganda! Great advertising, but for whom? I guess the manufacturer of the brand of paint was happy as well. Just kidding...
