(Berlin, Germany - 10.37 p.m. local time)
Somebody always got to pay the bill for campaigns... Clinton’s 22,5 million in debt (financing negative TV ads) sounds like a lot of money wasted to me and smells of foreclosure...Hillary Clinton stands proud like a trooper, who bravely steps back in line (after burning her own money to win the primary end game). Now that Obama ceases his moment, the campaign team knocked it off with a spin in a small town called Unity in New Hampshire.

If this kind of provincial symbolism helps bring in the kind of useful donors is doubtful. They should better focus on analyzing the impact Hillary’s defeat has on those voters who will support McCain now instead. America is a house divided between the power hungry and the corporate money flows. In this latest move for reconciliation before the summer holidays, I have the funny feeling that not a lot of Obama’s supporters are gonna be prepared to easily forgive Clinton the negative attacks that brought so many questions of race and (in)competence into the media circus during the last 12 month.

But they might forget it quickly over the increased price of gas at the pumps on the way to work. Time will tell. Americans are known for short term memory, especially when its caused by the speculations of their investment bankers on Wall Street.

Obama’s campaign announcement to visit Europe and the Middle East over the summer month sounds like a good idea. A lot of people all over the world would certainly enjoy his inspirational and rhetorical talks of hope. Something to feel good about despite the increasing global financial crisis. But I guess he will not be speaking publicly in Berlin - it would be kind of funny to hear him say: ”Oh yes, Germany. Enough of this Georgie-Porgies pie cause Angie rocks!” --- certainly not.
