(Berlin, Germany - 10.48 p.m. local time)
Getting in touch with the female fist-bumping side, I watched The View with co-host Michelle Obama. I have to say not only is she is a stunner and extremely stylish -- she also keeps it real. Her working class upbringing and Chicago South Side background have grounded her sophisticated and intellectual mind in a magical way. What a first lady! She rules...Black woman rule. Fired up - Period!
You got to check her out in this insightful show that I got fresh from the net.
This reminds me why I started to do this film in the first place 6 month ago. It was because of the book “ Dreams from my father” that I loved so much and wanted to know more about this writer and person behind. The fact that Obama run for president was only part of it. The foremost motivation that I had was to figure out, how he deals with the loss and how he transcends not growing up with his biological father. Of course his grandfather was a great and loving substitute, but as the book lays out the anger and confusion that he had as a young man was profound enough to make him into a compassionate politician.
Did we not all think that politics is a mean business before Obama came on the scene? Did we not all think that being principled and empathetic can be pathetic? Check out the word play with the lady’s...its fun.
One of the pillars of strength in Obama’s life is clearly his wife and the family network that he has relied upon. No media attack seems to hurt Michelle. She is self-confident and might be familiar with the pain of hitting the glass ceilings - part of the collective experience of AFRICANS in the Diaspora.
