The dust has settled down. People are getting familiar with the idea of Obama taking on McCain in the media war. It seems this unleashed all kinds of statements to re-assure those economic forces behind the longest and most expansive primary election in the history of the U.S...
I read that Michelle Obama is a target in conservative smear campaigns for her statement:"For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country" at an appearance on behalf of her husband in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in February. We all felt it and knew what she was referring to. Especially from an Afro-European perspective -- the fact that people of all ages and races came out to support him was something unexpected for the right wingers. It was a sentiment that Rev. D. Johnson phrased in her own words: “Is the soil really fertile enough?”
It seems the soil is quite fertile, despite or better because the US is slipping into a big recession. Although nobody dares to say the word. An indication are numerous media analyses on CNN or BBC who prepare listeners/ voters to expect higher oil prices. The shit hits the fan by a funny smell first.
Back to my life here: I am reflecting on the chances of me returning to film the final battle in fall. There is gonna be a lot of smear and spin until then. It is unlikely that it will be different campaigning then usual. I am not interested to get caught up in this game. I need to dig for gold - now that the gold price is on a record high. The gold is to find those pieces of Obamania that are awash in the river and that need careful sifting and extraction by intuition. Gold digger. Gold finger. Golden gate...
The 20 min docu teaser will be finally authored tomorrow and is my blueprint for a presentation in order to secure finance. It has technical flaws but the energy and vibrancy of the election campaigns during my winter period are clearly there. I hope that people feel the same and support this documentary...
I thought a good starting point for an evaluation of a future part that deals with the election campaign in fall, is to look at: www.factcheck.org. I found this video quite vivid, but why do they always have the stars and stripes in the back?
