(Berlin, Germany - 11 p.m. local time)
I have taken a break from editing to follow the election 2008 story on Democracy Now and CNN online. There seems to be so much confusion about the procedures in Florida and Michigan and if those votes should be counted. No way, they try to change the rules!
Obama is fighting hard in Mississippi to fend of Hillary and calls her attempt “to bamboozle you, to hoodwink you”. That line reminds me of the great satirical exploration of Spike Lee, who looked at the historic stereotypes of black entertainers in image making 8 years ago. Seems Hillary has brought up echoes from that past racist connection...
Remember the movie “Bamboozled”? here is the link: http://www.bamboozledmovie.com/film/index.html and for the more wikipedia sassy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bamboozled
Here is what Obama said: "I want everybody to be absolutely clear. We are in a tough battle," he said. "And I don't presume that I have won this election. Senator Clinton is fighting hard. She's tenacious. I respect her for that. She is working hard to win the nomination. But I want everybody to be absolutely clear. I'm not running for vice president. I'm running for president of the United States of America." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojz6a1aFKVs
Right on! As Hawaiian Congress man Neil Abercrombie said when I interviewed him last month:”Obama gotta fight back and defend himself”.
Missisippi will go down tonight and it looks good in the Deep South for Obama. I think Afro-Americans, Asian Americans and Latino votes will make a crucial difference in this election. I hope they stand behind this change and do not back out.
I will attend a Solar Energy Conference as an observer in Berlin today. I want to see where architecture, design and technology are in this battle for a more sustainable future. There is a case study from a school in Bangladesh that caught my attention: http://www.eurosolar.de/en/
